There are going to be a few changes to the programming starting this week at CrossFit Portsmouth. All changes have been made to increase the effectiveness of the programming across the board, for all of our members.
The first, Sunday’s will be a repeat of Thursdays strength and workout. Since most of our members take either Sundays or Thursdays off, we thought that giving the chance to make up the strength and/or workout would be beneficial. If for some reason you have done Thursdays workout already, come in, lift and complete a different WOD that you missed that week.
Secondly, our strength training is starting its first cycle of the year following the CrossFit Opens. We will be focusing on front squat strength and clean technique and power. But you’ll also notice a different set-up in the strength portion of the class. 3-4 days a week, your barbell work will be paired with either a gymnastic or monostructural movement to make our use of the time much more efficient.
A1. Deadlift; build up to a heavy 3, rest :30 between each set
A2. Side plank x :30 side, rest 30 sec b/t sides
This is going to take some getting used to, but I believe it will help a lot of use reach our goals.
