1. How did to come to be a part of The Port? What’s the biggest thing that has changed since starting?
I went to a CrossFit class while I was visiting family in Louisville last spring. I had never been handed my rear end in such a fun, positive way; I was intrigued. I wasn’t sure if CrossFit was something I would be able to do on a regular basis but I knew for my health I had to do something. After some encouragement from my husband I checked out a few gyms around Portsmouth and after I came to The Port and met Sophie and Justin I was sold.
I think the thing that has changed for me the most is the attention to my diet and the realization of how much food affects everything, EVERYTHING. My diet certainly isn’t perfect but it’s come a long way.
2. What your favorite kind of music to listen to while you workout?
My favorite workout music is DMX circa 2000. I know it’s ridiculous but it gets my blood pumping for sure.
3. What is your favorite/least favorite CrossFit movement?
Thrusters are my favorite CrossFit movement. Please note this does not mean I’m good at them, lol. Snatches are my least favorite, they also need significant improvement.

4. What was the last thing you Googled?
The last thing I googled was “tips for crate training a puppy”. I recently decided that adding a puppy to our family was a good idea. The jury’s still out.
5. What is your favorite cheat food?
My favorite cheat food is Ben and Jerry’s Chubby Hubby Ice Cream. Peanut butter, pretzels, and chocolate; it’s amazing.
